3D X-Ray Technology
Being at the forefront of dental technology, the i-CAT 3D X-ray machine uses cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) which allows us to have a better picture of facial structures that 2D X-rays simply cannot show. Since we have a more accurate 3-D picture, we are able to make a proper diagnosis and treatment plan when dealing with dental and facial issues. We can also use this technology to take a picture of the septum, sinus, and airway areas.
With this technology, there really aren't many drawbacks. There is very little radiation, you are exposed to more radiation on a flight from New York to Los Angeles, and it is very comfortable, taking only approximately 20 seconds.
With such cutting edge technology, these type of 3D scans can cost anywhere from $600-$800, which we understand is very expensive. The good news is that this technology is covered by many insurance companies cover with little to no out-of-pocket cost to you. To us, this technology, even though expensive, is vital to your treatment, so at our office your maximum co-payment will be $50.
